Bookings have opened for Vergelegen’s popular annual Camellia Celebration Weekend, which takes place on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 August. Limited tickets are available for the spectacular show of pink, white and red blooms at the only International Camellia Garden in Africa, and one of only 39 International Camellia Gardens in the world. Tickets cost R150 each and includes the access fee to the estate, a camellia garden tour with resident horticulturists Richard Arm and Chris Randlehoff, plus coffee or tea with a delicious slice of cake or scone at Café Fleur. The tour starts at 09:00 on each day, departing from the Wine Tasting Room. Pictured is Arm admiring a locally bred camellia named after the garden writer, Laurian Brown.
