Children march to underscore importance of child safety

Learners eagerly participated in a march calling for the creation of a safe environment for all children.

On Monday (29 May) Child Protection Week was launched at Raithby Primary School in Somerset West. Learners eagerly participated in a march calling for the creation of a safe environment for all children. Warrant Officer Leonard Cloete (Rural Commander), Warrant Officer Francois Visser and Sergeant Suzan Jantjies (spokesperson) of Somerset West police led the march in their police vehicle. It aimed at educating communities on the importance of protecting children and taking ownership of them as a community. Jantjies reiterated that children should always feel safe and be protected.
