Ward 86 councillor Xolani Diniso joined forces with a team of workers, who rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty as part of a clean-up campaign at two schools in Lwandle. The initiative formed part of Ward 86’s school-readiness programme and saw the team in clean-up action at Khanyolwethu Secondary and Umnqophiso Primary School on Friday 12 and Monday 15 January. Diniso said the purpose of the joint efforts were to ensure the outside of the schools, including pavements and surrounding grass areas, are cleaned to welcome students last Wednesday 18 January. He extended a special word of thanks to the Vaalfonfein Solid Waste Depot in Firgrove, which assisted with the clean-up initiative.
