The Strand Cricket Club recently held its annual sports-club awards ceremony for the year 2022-’23, where they took the opportunity to congratulate all their teams for their endurance and performances over the cricket season.
“This event brings great pleasure to honour and celebrate the talent of our Strand Community,” the club stated.
The first team ended fifth in the Western Cape Cricket Reserve G League, while the women’s team gained great momentum during their season and are confident of only getting better.
The junior boys’ division did the club proud by losing only three of their matches, and club members Lesley Taylor and Chriselda Tylor completed their level-3 umpire course.
“The Executive Board of the Strand Cricket Club wishes to extend their utmost gratitude and appreciation towards the sponsors and players for their continuous assistance, support and commitment in order to build and sustain this beautiful game of cricket,” the club’s statement read.
