To help build business cooperation and a community spirit, the Gordon’s Bay Business Forum (GBBF) held a “Feast from the East” fun community evening arranged by member Richard Loring and hosted at the new kid on the block, Mantello Cafe in Gordon’s Bay on Thursday 27 October. Diners visiting the seaside gem owned by Frikkie and Jean Matthues got into the spirit by dressing up in creative Indian attire. The owners’ friends, Nashaud and Rozanne Khan of House of K, prepared and presented their delicious Indian cuisine. Juanita (Gordon’s Bay Stay and Tourism) and Ryno Wilson (MTB Bike Tours) won the Best Indian-style couple, while new member mural artist and digital designer Tarryn Flee won the most innovative costume as her hands were also elaborately decorated with a henna design. In fact, everyone “won” a prize of a bottle of wine, kindly sponsored by Grill Shack and Late Bloomer Boutique Winery. Ruben van Berge of Zest Cafe took the opportunity to enjoy his birthday, while everyone had fun especially enjoying the sing-a-long to Loring’s hits from Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
