Police have compiled an accident report after an 18-year-old learner was struck down by a vehicle on the N2 highway in Somerset West on Tuesday 5 December.


A teenage pedestrian was hospitalised with injuries after being struck down on the N2, opposite Gordon High School in Somerset West, on Tuesday 12 December.

Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, spokesperson for the Somerset West police, confirmed the accident, saying an 18-year-old male learner was knocked down by a vehicle on the highway at 15:50 on Tuesday.

“It is alleged the driver of a red Nissan bakkie was travelling on the N2 when he heard a loud thud and realised he had hit a pedestrian,” said Jantjies. “The injured learner was transported to hospital for medical attention.”

Police have compiled an accident report.
