The Macassar Community Shotokan Karate Club achieved remarkable success at The Gichin Karate Invitational Tournament, earning 20 medals in various categories during the regional competition.
“This outstanding performance is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our talented martial artists,” said club secretary Enrico de Bruin.
“We are incredibly proud of all our participants who gave their best and displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition. These achievements are a reflection of the commitment, discipline and enthusiasm of our club members, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they represented our club.” He also extended heartfelt gratitude to PnP Somerset Mall for their generous support in the form of sponsorships of refreshments.
“They not only provided us with essential snacks and refreshments but also showed tremendous support for our club. Their contribution played a significant role in keeping our participants energised and ready to compete at their best.”
The club won nine gold medals, 10 silver medals and seven bronze medals in the categories of Kumite and Kata.
