Somerset West police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after a vehicle roll-over collision on the N2 earlier this week.
The incident occurred on the highway in the vicinity of the weighbridge on Sunday morning (27 August), leaving multiple occupants injured and causing heavy traffic delays on the arterial route in the direction of Somerset West.
According to police spokesperson Sgt Suzan Jantjies members responded to the collision at 10:26. She said it is believed 13 occupants, eight children and five adults, apparently seated in the back of the white Toyota bakkie, were hospitalised with injuries after being flung from the vehicle.
Jantjies urged any eyewitnesses with information that could aid the police investigation to come forward by contacting the Somerset West detective branch on 021 850 1344.
