On Thursday (23 March), Somerset West police in partnership with Kruiskyk TV reached out a helping hand to farmworkers in Somerset West rural areas with much-needed donations of maize meal and flour for their pantries. The assistance forms part of an initiative started to help farmworkers with food in these challenging times. Rural Sector Commander Warrant Officer Leonard Cloete and Warrant Officer Francois Visser facilitated the handover and noted that the partnership truly is making a difference in the lives of rural community members who shoulder various struggles brought on by daily life.Somerset West Police Station Commander Colonel Jacolize Fleischmann expressed her satisfaction with the project and belief that the partnership will grow stronger in future.
