A group of paralysed individuals who were all injured in diving accidents at Harmony Park banded together to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Saturday (3 December). Known as Echos of Hope, Jozua Julies, Edgar Hartnick and Arthur Solomon strive to bring community awareness around the dangers of diving and its associated risks (“Walk or wheel for awareness,” 30 November). The three musketeers with their support team in tow walked, or rolled, from Gustrouw Clinic to Gordon’s Bay to foster greater awareness of disability in society’s midst.
