Keller Education hosted Dutch school principals from Onderwijs Maak Je Samen at Mondeor Eco School in Somerset West, showcasing its holistic approach to education through student-led tours, Care Circles focusing on emotional well-being, and inclusive vocational programs, concluding with an award presentation for educational excellence.

Earlier this month Keller Education hosted members of Onderwijs Maak Je Samen, a Dutch organisation of school principals, at Mondeor Eco School in Somerset West.

The school impressed with its holistic education model, combining academic learning with emotional well-being and life skills, highlighting the positive impact of innovative and collaborative educational approaches.

Warm welcome

The morning at Mondeor Eco School started with a warm welcome from primary school principal Anne Lett and her team, emphasising learner-centred learning through engaging programmes.

A standout moment was the South African welcome treats and packed lunches made by learners, highlighting the school’s commitment to practical life skills and preparation for life beyond the classroom.

Pride in practice

Mondeor’s learner guides, filled with enthusiasm, led a tour showcasing their school. They engaged the Dutch principals with questions and shared their learning experiences, highlighting Mondeor’s supportive environment.

This demonstrated Keller Education’s belief that learners thrive when they feel valued and connected.

Where learning meets well-being

One of the morning’s most powerful moments was observing Mondeor’s Care Circles in action. These weekly circles provide a safe space for learners to express themselves and support one another. Seeing them engage openly and empathetically, even in front of visitors, was a clear demonstration of the transformative power of focusing on emotional intelligence and well-being.

At Mondeor learners aren’t just mastering content; they’re learning empathy, connection and self-awareness too.

Inclusive education

Keller Education staffers and the Dutch principals were impressed by Mondeor’s dedication to inclusive education, particularly seen at the School of Skills.

This school emphasises vocational and life skills, with a view to embedding inclusivity in society. Learners benefit from personalised academic support, hands-on experience and a purposeful education, which equips them for life beyond school.

This inclusive approach ensures every learner, regardless of background or ability, feels successful and valued.

Celebrating excellence

Mondeor Eco School received the Keller Education Flagship School Award for its dedication to education and partnership with Keller Education.

This award recognises Mondeor as an innovative and inspirational centre focused on the Keller Methodology, positively impacting both learners and the community. The award also aims to inspire other schools to pursue innovative, learner-focused education.

Lasting partnership

Everyone left with new inspiration and perspectives. The visit highlighted how collaboration can drive change in schools. By sharing ideas and practices, teachers expand their horizons and strengthen their commitment to transformative learning.

Keller Education forms partnerships that bring best practices in education about, where schools become flagships. Whether veteran or new, Keller Education enables excellence.
