The Joyce Soup Kitchen at Sir Lowry’s Pass received an early Christmas lunch sponsored by German company Dahlhausen (Pty) Ltd, which assisted with cooking and handing 2 000 meals and drinks out on Monday 12 December to the community. Communications manager Conny Jakob, a former resident of Somerset West, explained that her parents, Renate and Wolfgang, had been involved with the Joyce Soup Kitchen for 10 years, and last year the company decided to sponsor the event as a corporate social responsibility initiative. “Understanding the socio-economic challenges of the market we operate in is a key success factor for Dahlhausen to develop a sustainable business,” commented Jakob.
