Dozens of homeless people received “paper blankets” handmade with old newspapers and plastic through a project supervised by social work intern Primrose Benhura of the Somerset West Night Shelter. Senior social worker Priscilla Napoleon said the materials were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Claremont and further donations of the thick and warm blankets will continue throughout winter around the Helderberg. The handover took place at Turn Around 180, a community service centre in Strand.
