More than 60 senior citizens of Ward 85 were treated to a lunch and senior citizens capacity-building event by ward councillor Chantal Cerfontein, who was able to make funds available from the ward allocation for the gesture. On arrival health screenings where done as well as City of Cape Town presentations on water saving and sanitation. Those who attended were gifted cellphones with sim cards and airtime to help them with emergency contacts, compliments from Lee Drake (Ocean Breeze Hotel, Strand), Edwina Hadfield (Gordon’s Bay Residents Association) and Zainab White (Strand Outreach). Pictured is Cerfontein, all smiles, as seniors are surprised with their gifts.

Cerfontein also visited seniors in the community who were unable to attend the Senior Citizens Capacity Building event. She visited seniors of Voortrekker Park and Morkel Cottage and handed a little treat with pamper gifts and cake thanks to a kind donation from Leon Automotive. Pictured are some of the seniors of Voortrekker Park.
