For the second consecutive year, the Victoria Park Neighbourhood Watch (VPNHW) in Somerset West has brought a wave of festive cheer and sweet relief to the learners and teachers of Gloria Botha School, hosting a special ice-cream outreach on Monday 8 December.

The event, dubbed a success by all involved, saw the Sno Flo team arrive at the school to the delighted shouts of dozens of learners.
Every child eagerly lined-up for a treat, receiving a generous cone filled with delicious strawberry-and-vanilla swirled soft-serve, topped with a crispy sprinkle.
Adding a unique element of warmth and joy to the morning was Mumba, a friendly and gentle dog from the VPNHW family.
He quickly became the star of the event, offering cuddles, playful licks and loving interaction to the excited learners.
The children were also given the heartwarming opportunity to feed Mumba specially-made dog-friendly ice cream from Sno Flo, a moment that proved to be a major hit with both teachers and leaners.
The initiative was further supported by AM Security, one of VPNHW’s valued safety partners, with a representative attending to show solidarity and contribute to the warm atmosphere of community spirit.
Speaking after the successful event the VPNHW extended its appreciation to the local community for their continued support throughout the year.
“The VPNHW want to wish everyone in the Helderberg basin a joyful and safe festive season,” a representative stated. “Thank you to all residents, business sponsors, and security partners who make it possible for VPNHW to operate and flourish in their volunteer work in the community.”
