Young Bafana will be the first team from the Helderberg to participate in the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, which take place in Durban from Monday 5 to Sunday 11 June. They qualified for the playoffs by proving victorious in the Western Cape region and have been drawn in their group with Northern Cape winners Upington City and the Eastern Cape winners Amavarara. To qualify for promotion, Young Bafana need to win their section or qualify as the best second place. There will be three sections of three teams each. The two teams who qualify for the final will both be promoted to the National Second league, and should Young Bafana be successful it will be a massive boost for football in the Helderberg area and another first for the area. Coach Ashraf Calvert is quietly confident as he and the team have been putting in many hours to achieve their goal.
